Plan ahead! Trinidad 2013 J’Ouvert. Which band will you choose?
This year we have decided to try a new J’Ouvert band on carnival Monday morning. My last J’Ouvert morning was fun till it was over, then we became ensnarled in an endless line of traffic that started to bring back memories of my many “I missed carnival” nightmares. I didn’t reach the band till almost noon that day.
To avoid a repeat of this we will choose our band very carefully this year.
- We need a band that is no holds barred fun. Stooshness and posing will not do!
- We need a band that is fully hydrated. Running out of paint a few hours in is fine….running out of drinks is NOT!
- We need a band that finishes in a location that makes it easy to find your way home after….I want to be the first to reach the band on carnival Monday and Tuesday.

After jumping with red ants, cocoa devils, and the old monday morning Caesars army it’s time to try something new. So this year we will most likely be trying Dirty Dozen J’Ouvert. Let’s hope they live up to expectations! I will soon post some details regarding what they have to offer. Stay Tuned!

Cool. I took a look. Man there are so many decisions to be made. I was looking at Insomniacs, THEN Dirty Dozens, and NOW I’m curious about Cocoa Devils!!!! Ugh! Lol.

Hey, have you gotten anymore information on Dirty Dozens? My crew and I were also looking at Insomniacs (now called iJouvert).
The pre party is at the starting point, their base camp. I think it starts at 2am-4am and then they head out in the road. The rum punch was a killer!

I was thinking of doing Yellow Devils like I did last year. Is Dirty Dozen better? I may have to jump ship…

We did dd as well bro. Was amazing. Drinks were tasty, enless vibes (still keep contact with some I have met 🙂 and the organizers are super friendly.
Can’t wait for this year. And please commenter one up, link us with that pre party info! (Don’t tek me 4 Bol face but i curious! Lol)
Played with dirty dozen this yr for my first Jouvert experience and it was the shit. The trucks never ran out of drinks and they werent rude neither. Had a lot of chicks and they weren’t stoosh (didn’t get blanked a wine). The pre party was dope as well. Good choice. Will be playing with them nextyr as well.
